Data Training Program
The Community and Economic Development (CED) Unit at ISU Extension and Outreach provides opportunities to learn how to use data and mapping tools to assist with developing and managing community data to support decision making. While CED has offered GIS related courses for over two decades, a grant from the Midwest Big Data Hub has allowed CED to develop a new community data focused workshop.
Unlocking the Power of Community Data: Visualizing and Sharing Your Local Data
This workshop aims to train community members on how to better utilize local data for informed decision making as a step to strengthen Community Resilience. Participants will:- Manage and prepare local data
- Visualize data using Tableau Public
- Share data visualizations
This new workshop will be offered for Free as a 3-part hybrid workshop during the first 3 weeks of October 2024. The workshop is open to Extension staff and members of county and community agencies or non-profit organizations. For more information about the workshop please visit the workshop page or register for the workshop. The workshop requires advanced registration and is limited to 25 participants. The onsite portion of the workshop will be held at the Dubuque County Extension Office. Participants residing in Extension Region 12 (Jackson, Dubuque, Delaware and Clayton Counties) or adjacent counties are encouraged to apply. Participants completing the program will receive a certificate of completion
